MUSIC ON LIBRARY BUT NOT ON IPHONE

Alright, so I recently just got my new iPhone because my other one broke and I got the refurbished one in the mail and from my old phone I backed it up right before I did the back up onto the new one everything went smooth at all the data is there except the music it is all screwed up. All the music is on my iTunes library on my computer but every time I try to sync the phone it doesn't sync the music. I've tried everything turning the iCloud music on and off and all that such nothing is working. When you highlight the phone under the summary it says it has no music on it and on the phone actually it has some songs off my library on there and then there are songs their grade out and you can't even play them on there that I have to re-put in the CDs and get them on there that is something I still have to do but I want to get all the music I've purchased on iTunes on my phone.

Greetings scottmarker48,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

I understand that you are having trouble syncing your purchased music from your computer to your iPhone. To help troubleshoot this process, I would suggest reading over the attached article to ensure all of the sync settings are correct.

Sync your iPhone, iPad, and iPod with iTunes using USB - Apple Support

An alternate method you can use to recover all of your purchased music is to download that music directly to your iPhone. You can do this by following the instructions located in the next article.

Download past purchases from iTunes in the Cloud - Apple Support

iPhone or iPod touch: Tap the iTunes Store app. Then go to More > Purchased. Tap Not on This iPhone or Not on This iPad. Scroll to find the song you want to download, then tap it. Tap the Download User uploaded file icon next to it. Your item downloads to your device.

Cheers

I just fixed this issue on my iPhone5 running iOS 8.4. Here are the steps I followed:

1. Got to Settings - Music and turn off both Apple Music and iCloud Music Library.

2. Eject the phone from iTunes and close iTunes

3. Disconnect the phone from the computer

4. Wait a few seconds

5. Reconnect the iPhone (my system is set to start iTunes automatically when the phone connects)

6. In iTunes, select the phone, then select Music. Now you should see the Sync Music tab to the right and can select your sync options.

7. After selecting the desired options, click Sync (or Apply, whichever shows up at the lower right).

That fixed it for me, so hopefully it will do the same for you. Good luck!
