Unable to empty trash.

Why are you trying to Empty Trash Securely? With that many items to remove it may take weeks before it's done.

Try using Trash It! 5.1 to fix the problem. Or you can try this:

Open the Terminal in the Utilities folder and paste the following at the prompt:

sudo rm -Rf ~/.Trash

Press RETURN. Enter your admin password when prompted. It will not echo to the screen. Press RETURN again.

Relaunch the Finder, then from the Finder menu bar, select

Finder ▹ Preferences... ▹ Advanced

and uncheck the box marked

Empty Trash securely

Try again to empty the Trash.

Never use the shell (Terminal) to empty the Trash. It's very dangerous and usually doesn't work.

And, as usual you are quite wrong.

Unfortunately, your question is one that tends to bring out the worst of the fake advice that circulates on this site.

Then, perhaps, you should not be posting such fake advice.
