As long as it is not locked and you can get a SIM from the UK provider that works in an iPhone 6.

Its likely going to work fine on 3g.
However:
1. The warranty is going to be valid only in Canada, so if anything happens you will have to bring it back to get it looked at and serviced.
2. While general 3G usage will work fine, LTE/4G may or may not depending on the bands used by the carrier you wish to use it with.
3. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe there s an import tax associated with bringing electronic devices into the U.K. So you may need to pay a tax when you get back.
Phil,
Canada is part of the UK, so the warranty should be recognized in the UK. It will be subject to whatever duty may be imposed, I'm sure, if it is considered new and still in the original box, and/or you don't lie to the Customs official. 😉
Technically and Politically that may be true since they defer to Queen Elizabeth... But the reason warranties are country specific is because of the bands being used by the carriers, which to my knowledge are very different in Canada to those used in the U.K.
Everytihng I can find points to the fact the warranty will be limited to Canada.
I'd be very interested in any actual experience with a Canadian iPhone being serviced under Warranty in the U.K.
I commented because I was told once, here, by a Canadian that the warranty was recognized in the UK, but obviously I have no personal knowledge of that.
o.k. Fair enough. 😉
I Went to the Apple Store in Vancouver and I was 100% guaranteed by the manager of this store that it will work perfect in the U.K. Also he 100% guaranteed that the warranty was international.... Thank you for your help....hope this helps other people as at the moment due to the exchange rate there is a saving of £200.
Generally I take what Geniuses at Apple Stores say with a grain of salt. Its more common, than you'd like, for them to be wrong.
In any case, good luck with the iPhone. I hope it works out.
You have also been told of the errors in the info from the Apple Store in your near identical duplicate post
Thank you so much for your help... I go back to the U.K. In a few days, so I will keep you posted.... The proof of this pudding will only be. In the eating.....

Canada is an independent Dominion of the UK, it is not a part of the UK.
Um...news to me. Canada is an independent country! Pretty sure there's no-one sitting in the UK Parliament representing Canada......

Then you are woefully under informed.
Canada
See also: Name of Canada
The term Dominion is employed in the Constitution Act, 1867 (originally the British North America Act, 1867), and describes the resulting political union. Specifically, the preamble of the act states: "Whereas the Provinces of Canada, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick have expressed their Desire to be federally united into One Dominion under the Crown of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, with a Constitution similar in Principle to that of the United Kingdom..." Furthermore, Sections 3 and 4 indicate that the provinces "shall form and be One Dominion under the Name of Canada; and on and after that Day those Three Provinces shall form and be One Dominion under that Name accordingly".
Then you had better hope it doesn't go wrong
Shame really if you have purchased already
In the US they sell the A1586 ( as a Sprint ) and if purchased at an Apple Store unlocked usually works fine in UK according to anecdotal evidence
as it is the same model as sold in Europe 😉
