Newly added music isn't showing up on iTunes for iOS

Hello all,

My girlfriend transferred an album (not purchased through iTunes) from her Mac to her iPhone. She was in the "My Music" section of the desktop app, and clicked the "Add to" and her iPhone was listed because it was plugged into the computer. The copy of files showed on the screen, and then when looking at the phone, the "My Music" section, filtered by artists does not show the band. If she searches her phone by tapping the magnifying glass and puts in the artist name, then the album does indeed show. But as stated, its not listed in the "Artist" or "Album" even thought the metadata is correct on the album.

Any ideas what gives?
