Why do I have to verify a download I got from the Apple website? Surely Apple should be able to know this already?

Why do I have to verify a download I got from the Apple website? Surely Apple should be able to know this already?

I am running WIN XP PRO SP 3.0 32 bit

Can anyone help me as to where I can find an update or Download for my computer? Please!!

I guess it would have to be a download since I just uninstalled the version of Quicktime I already had! sigh.....also, I need an update for Apple iTunes as well....I have a large library of meditations/music that will not open in Windows Media Player, but would previously play in iTunes. Now I cannot upload anything, or play anything in my iTunes library

I just cannot afford to upgrade to a later version of Windows, as I am on a fixed pension.
