Brother DCP-7065DN - scanner not working after OS X update (10.10.4)

After the 07/16/2015 update to OS X Version 10.10.4, my Brother DCP-7065DN stopped working correctly. It will print but it refuses to scan correctly.


I can only get it to scan exactly ONE document each time I uninstall the printer, unplug the printer, restart the computer and reinstall the drivers. After the first scan it refuses to scan again unless I go through the entire uninstall/reinstall process again.


I can only presume the update to OS X Version 10.10.4 is intervening with the scan feature because before the update it was working like a charm and after the update it is an ordeal to scan anything (and an absolute nightmare to scan more than one document).


Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Is this a known issue? Any solutions?
