I can't transfer purchases from my iPad to a new computer. The option to do this in File>Devices is greyed out. I've authorised the new computer and am also using the correct account on both my computer and my iPad. Is there an easy way to transfer the songs on my iPad to my new computer? The computer I previously used to sync my songs is broken so I am unable to use it.

Have you unlocked the iPad if there is a passcode. There will also be a pop up on the iPad that says trust this computer. Have you hit trust yet?
is the correct appleID used on the computer all purchases are tied 100% to the appleID never to a ios or osx device hardware
Yes the correct apple ID is signed in on iTunes on the computer
