MacBook Air Battery backup gone down? :(

Hello Guys,

I am using MacBook Air 13" which came pre installed with Mavericks. Recently I upgraded to Yosemite through Appstore. Yosemite really ***** with all the graphics and poor performance of the battery and other issues. So I went to the Apple service centre and downgraded my laptop to Mavericks again through a clean install. And now the battery issue has not fixed yet. before installing Yosemite on Mavericks my battery would give a backup of about 12 hours(from the battery indication bar). Now on mavericks it shows only 01:30 Minutes at 40% of the battery charge. I am really concerned with this. Why is this happening? 😐

Please somebody help me!!!!!!!!!!!

Greetings cnu swiss,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

I understand that you are having an issue with the battery life on your MacBook Air which you first noticed after updating to Yosemite. I also realize that after you noticed this issue, you downgraded the operating system back to Mavericks, but the issue still continues.

To begin troubleshooting this situation, I would recommend reading over the attached article. The Troubleshooting batteries section will be most helpful to you in this situation, but I would still recommend reading over the Understanding batteries in Mac notebooks and Optimizing battery life sections as well. There is a lot of great information in these sections.
