The easiest approach is if you have a Time Machine backup, then you can follow the instructions in:OS X Mountain Lion: Revert to a previous OS X version

If you do not have a TM backup of the Snow Leopard system, then it would be best to obtain an external hard drive and backup the current system so you do not lose your applications and data.

Then you will have to use the Snow Leopard install disk to reboot the computer holding the C key so you restart on the SL disk. Choose Utilities and then Disk Utility and select the internal drive, usually something like Macintosh HD, and Erase the drive. Then Quit Disk Utility and select Install Mac OS X and reinstall Snow Leopard. After finishing that task you can reboot the computer on the internal drive and use Disk Utility to restore the applications and data files from the backup drive copy you made.
