Q: MBP (Retina, Mid 14) Screen Turns Off Intermittently

Purchased my first MacBook Pro from an Apple Store in Las Vegas, NV in January 2015.  Shortly after the purchase, the screen has been turning off intermittently and is happening more and more often.  It is becoming very frustrating.  I've read in some forums that this might be a software issue, but it seems to happen more often when connecting/disconnecting a mic cable; i.e., headphones, mic cable for speaker.  It also happens when adjusting the monitor angle.  Is this a product defect with my particular computer or with all similar models?  Does Apple have a fix?  Am I stuck with a $2K defective machine?  Machine details below.

Thanks, Kevin.
