Keynote for iOS, which I should use

Hi, I have a iPad 2 and iPhone 5s, both running on iOS 8.4. Im planning to buy a VGA adapter, but they dont use same connector. Which device is running better on Keynote for presentation? Should I buy dock adapter or the lightning one?
