Q: Can I transfer a playlist from my iPhone to my iMac?

My playlists on my iMac seem to get erased on a regular basis, but they seem to stay intact on my phone. Is there a way to transfer my playlists from my iPhone to my iMac. It seems like it should be easier than it is. iMac on Yosemite 10.10.4

The Playlist should be synced automatically, going in both directions.

How do you sync your computer and iPhone? Via iTunes and cable? Do you select your sync playlists manually, or did you switch to iCloud Music Library on both devices?

I am not on iCloud Music Library on either device. I sync my phone via USB cable. I was on iCloud Music Library for a few days on my iMac, but it was causing problems so I got rid of it. I think that was the most recent cause of my playlists being lost from my computer.
