Q: Multiple Libraries - songs appeared in both

I formed a new Library so I can connect my iPad, and not get the songs, etc. that are on my iPhone onto my iPad (I don't want to use it for music, thus want no songs).

But when I opened my new iPad Library, all the songs that are in my iPhone library apear, along with the purchases I made using iPhone.

OK - Even weirder now. I closed iTUnes, and reopened it. All the music that had appeared before is now not showing in my iPad library, but most confusing, when I click on my Playlists, Albums or My Music,  U2's SOngs Of Innocence shows up. It is the ONLY thing that shows.  I NEVER DOWNLOADED THAT ALBUM - WHERe'D IT COME FROM????

Also, it shows 2 APPS - ePub Reader, and Nook. I had both of these Apps on my computer, but never dragged them into the library I made for the iPad.

I have not yet hooked up my iPad to the computer - want to be sure that I don't load everything from my phone onto my iPad.

WHat did I do wrong/ what should I do to keep my devices separate?
