Hi. I have an iPhone 6 plus. Recently adware pop ups have taken over Safari. Deleting history, cookies, and even restoring the phone has not helped. All websites are effected except the most secure ones like banking sites or the apple site can still be browsed. Pls help, am going crazy and I'm stucj big time

I had the same problem. Constant pop-up windows telling me to buy virus protection!
The solution was to download a free Adware remover for MAC app from CNET software downloads. I used Adware Medic (but I think they got bought out by a different company). There is also Bitdefender and others. Check the reviews there.
Good luck.
Easy fix.
Go to Settings > Safari > clear all website content and data.
Never download anything from CNET.
They add aware to their downloads.

Interesting article, Jonathan. FYI I'm on a MAC, so I'm not sure if the situation is the same with CNET downloads. Clearing all my browser histories, etc. only worked temporarily. Running Ad Medic worked permanently.
