Anybody else prompted with this message?

When using when I try to manage my Apple ID: I get prompted with this message:

To access My Apple ID, you must use a supported
browser.

Please download and install the latest version of Safari.

I can tell that this is not a popup ad or another site. I cannot access Appleid.apple.com without being re-directed to https://appleid.apple.com/download-safari

After clicking download, it brings me to http://www.apple.com/safari/ . There is no download link on that page. I have a Windows laptop with IE and have been able to do this before with no problem. Is this new?

Thanks,

-Ethan

This is the typical poor quality error message in the Apple Support Community software. The part in bold is fine. Don't know why they added the part about only safari. I'd interpret it as "use a modern web browser." I'd assume you need to try some more modern version of whatever browser you use or get and use a modern web browser. Web technology is changing all the time. You need to stay current on your web browser.

If on XP, take the advice of prior posters.

If you know of a community that would work better with this question than the one I am using, let me know by all means. Last I checked, there was no Apple ID community.

Besides, this particular community is filled with random questions that have nothing to do with it. Every one knows that by now. Why not ask that question on one of the other threads?

A little tip Ethan, you can look at my post and see that I was replying to rcccharles.

My point was not which forum to reply in. I took your original question to mean you went here: https://appleid.apple.com/ and got the message from your first post. That section of Apple has nothing to do with ASC and is on different software than that used here (Jive). I understood Robert's response to mean he thought you were here and got that response.

lmho! sorry...

I haven't been using ASC that often anymore. We all make mistakes (<----of course that is one of the most common cover-ups)

Also please note that it can be hard to tell which tone a person is using over the internet when you cannot hear them. That was not meant to be a rude reply, if it appeared that way.
