i am trying to updated and turn on my iphone 4, it dose not update from itune and dose not turn on

It sounds like your phone is not turning on at all and as such is not recognized in iTunes when you plug it into your computer. I would have to recommend you use the following article to help with your phone not turning on:
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't respond or doesn't turn on
If that is not the case and the phone is turning on, but you cannot see it in iTunes then use either of these two articles depending on if you have a Mac or a PC:
