Duplicates of podcasts are cluttering my Podcasts app

I am using iOS 8.4 on an iPhone 6. I listen to a lot of podcasts. In the last couple of weeks, I am finding multiple copies of several podcasts cluttering the app. It seems to create a duplicate copy of each of several podcasts every time it refreshes.

I have tried subscribing and unsubscribing. I have tried removing all podcasts from the phone and resyncing from iTunes. neither worked.

Can any one help?

I have this issue as well, but only with the Fresh Air podcast. I now have over a dozen Fresh Air icons in "My Podcasts," all with different counts of unplayed episodes. I also have issues with iTunes regularly unsubscribing me to the podcast at random.
