When i use the Apple EarPods, I really don't hear any bass. After I press the EarPods into my ears with my finger, I can hear the bass clearly and loud. I've already set the music settings to "more bass" bit it didn't help. Is this normal?
Sound like the earpods are not filling the ear canal which will reduce the base
When you buy expensive in-ear phones which come with replaceable sized "gaskets" the correct fit is essential for correct base
One of the problems here is the hygiene aspect. You can't try these things in the shop (or at least, you shouldn't do so). I had a run in with a John Lewis store over just such an issue. I see their point but I don't see an answer.

Bose et al do sell the upmarket in-ear with three gaskets small, med , large and they generally cover most ear sizes
You get what you pay for, as always ....................
