I am trying to share my entire Photo Library to be able to see it through Apple TV. When I go to iTunes -> File -> Home Sharing -> Choose Photos and look for the Photo Library it is grayed out. How can I select my entire Photo Library (13, 000+ photos)? Thanks.

That might be my problem. Within Photos I cannot designate it to "use as the system library" because it is grayed out.
The first time I used Photos I designated to an external drive (that is currently where all my photos are). How do I make the existing external drive location as part of my System Library? Thanks.
It being greyed out generally means that it is already the system library, perhaps there is an issue with the external drive. Is it formatted Mac OS extended.
Yes, it is Mac OS Extended and everything else is functioning properly. For example, if I create a folder with some pictures in it, iTunes recognizes that and uses the picture to Home Share. It just doesn't want to recognize the entire database with photos. Any other suggestions? Thanks again.

If you don't use iCloud photo library, you might create a new temporary library on your internal drive and one on your external drive and test if those work as they should. You would only need to put a few photos in each.
I tried both of your suggestions. I created a new library both on the internal drive and external drive. The results are the same both new libraries are grayed out as well. You have been very patient with me and I appreciate it. What do you suggest next?
I think the solution may be beyond me as it's being to sound like an iTunes issue to me. I'm not sure what you will do with the results but it also might be helpful if you tried all this under a new user account.

used to work perfectly fine.
Quite random, but this morning when I checked I could simply select my photo library via itunes 'select photos to share via home sharing'. It wasn't an option yesterday, but now works fine.
