Help! Accidental replace on pages

Hi...I desperately need help! I accidentally replaced my homework on pages with another document. Is there any way to recover the original document?

Hi Peter,

It was late and meant to label something 3.1 and labelled it 3.2 again, hit replace and then realized my mistake. I don't know what Time machine is...I've only had my mac for about a month. Is there anything I can do?
