My macbook will not connect to mt wifi and the Ethernet keeps dropping out. i go into the settings to find it's trying to connect to the wifi even though I set it to Ethernet.

The wifi is fine in the house, iPad fine and kindle ok to but still no internet access on the macbook pro ? The wifi will not connect even if I stand next to the router. The Ethernet keeps dropping out, with the settings saying they are look for the Wi-Fi after I set to Ethernet.

Hello 7lostboy,
I know that it can be an annoyance if your computer does not connect to your Wi-FI but other devices do. Let's see if we can get it sorted out.
I would first start with the article below on troubleshooting Wi-Fi connectivity. It does have a section on Not connecting to the internet as well as a section on dropping the connection. Another troubleshooting is in the second article and to create a new Network Location. The idea behind that is that you might need a fresh start on the settings and this would do that for you.
How to troubleshoot Wi-Fi connectivity in OS X Lion or earlier

Using network locations (Mac OS X v10.6 and later)

Let me know if this works out for you or if you further assistance on this issue.
