Our phone got wet - dried it out and now says to sync to itunes. It does not do anything when I plug it in...
What do I do?

Make an appointment at an Apple Store for an out of warranty replacement as most likely your phone is dead due to water damage.
I Think that kb1951 is most likely correct with his advice, but you could try connecting the device again, launch iTunes on your own and if iTunes sees the device, click on Restore and restore the iOS software. That is actually what the message on the screen means. You need to restore the iOS software. On the odd chance that this does work, restoring will erase the device, but you can restore a backup after you restore the software, if you have one.
