Q: How do i delete a hard drive with a broken disk drive

Heidi ho, I have an old macbook - 13" aluminum, late 2008 (2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo memory, 250 GB HD) that I want to donate but I don't know how to wipe it.

OS X Lion 10.7.4 - I have the start up disks for Leopard.

I have the start up disk but the disk drive isn't working (won't suck in the disk). Any help is appreciated.

Thank you!

macbook, Mac OS X (10.6.4)

Get out that 10.6.4 Snow Leopard disc you supposedly have and see if you can boot from it. You will need Software Restore discs for the computer if you give it away. So perhaps you need a way to boot from one - external optical drive or if you have another computer with Firewire, then you can use Target Disk Mode.
