Time Machine
everything I'm trying to back up from T/M gives the same response. Can't be modified or deleted, required by OS X

Explain in a bit more detail as we are a bit lost with backup from T/M.
You cannot change TM backup that was created from a different computer.. you can migrate the settings and files from it.
