Fake iCloud/Apple ID account hackers???

Has anyone else received a text from an "iCloud" account claiming that your Apple ID account has been used on an unknown device? They then proceeded to ask me to verify my information and change my password, and that's when I knew something was off. I know that Apple would never request personal information like that via text or email.

iPhone 6, iOS 8.4

It's a scam. Good catch on your part to know that Apple would not ask you for personal info.

If you do log into iCloud on a browser that you have not used before (or a computer or device), you will get a message alerting you to that fact.

But these scammers will use any method they can think of to get people to give them their personal info.

One of my favorites is "Your ID will be permanently disabled in 10 minutes unless you call this number and give us all of your personal information"....(obviously not that literal, but you get the idea....)

Cheers,
