Ipad 2 only shows charging screen but doesn't turn on

Hi

My ipad 2 has been dead for 1 week and won't turn on. When I plug it in to charge it, only the charging battery screen appears.
After letting it fully recharge it won't turn on.
I have tried to do the hard reset and nothing happens. it's still a black screen.
i have tried tapping it on the sides (which has worked for people) but that still hasn't worked for me.

I have tried plugging it into my laptop and onto itunes but nothing happens except the ipad starts charging but itunes doesn't detect it.

It's an ipad 2 A1395 model
