I have just purchased a 6g iPod Touch.
Is it me, or battery life is drastically decreased? It would make sense, considering that the battery is approximately same as the older models, while the processor is 6 times faster.

I agree with you about battery life. VERY disappointed in iPod 6 life. Returned one unit after 6 mos and new one gets 2 hrs 19min just surfing on Facebook mostly. I think you are right about Apple not upgrading the battery with all the other new stuff. Won't buy another one!!!!!
I have the same behaviour however i noticed that the moment the battery reach 20% i still can use the device for 4 more hours until definitely runs out. I tried recalibrating many times with no avail.
Just what run time are you getting and what is the iPod doing during that time?
I have not seen any reports here on battery life on the 6G. However, as yu siad,/implied the nerw iPods do more, have a more power-humgry screen and thus battery life tends to be shorter.
For the 5G users have reported 4-5 hours of video as the norm

Yes, the screen appears to be the same
I had to do a "restart", just shut down, then restart, battery life improved after that, as my battery ran down overnight sitting doing nothing, the restart helped improve it, also check that "mail" is set to manual and not push as this does not help battery life.

I'm in the process of exhausting my 6G iPod to see if it helps to recalibrate it. I charged it and my 5G iPod to 100% and have been running the same movies on them at full brightness for the past two hours. The 5G is at 62% charge and the 6G is at 35% charge.
Just note the % battery on an iPod is not accurate.
I was using the app Status Lite to get the battery %.
It is not that accurate
It's accurate enough to show the battery life on the 6G is less than on the 5G. The increase in speed comes at the cost of battery life.
HI .as you said your ipod touch 6th run down so quickly . I have the same the one you have i also have the same problem that the battery run from 100% to 20 % after 2 hours 30 mins using safari and about 10 mins video. I think something wrong with the battery
HI, I see several suffer from battery issue. I recently got my iPod 6 and find that the battery is draining quite rapidly and unevenly. for example battery runs down to 20% within just over 2 h and the balance 20 last for little over 1h. another peculiarity is as i connect for charging the indicator jumps to 100% and then quickly reverts back to its starting position.
