Hello,

I have reinstalled the disc on my MacBook Pro OS X 10.6.8 and all is fine except when I start iTunes 11.4 appear on the screen despite my selecting "Documents" in the finder preferences. I would be grateful for help.

Hello, I am expressing myself poorly; Before starting the computer I have chosen "Documents" as opening window - some of the choices in the finder preferences are Bureau, Documents and others. But instead of Documents the iTunes page comes up despite whatever I try, iTunes insists. I have two identical MacBook Pros with identical set up and the other one is ok. I have verified the permissions but this have of course not helped. The language on the computers is french.

In Finder hold down the option/alt key while selecting the Go menu item. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.

Restart the computer, open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.

If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer ones.

If you want to make your user library permanently visible, run the below command in Applications/Utilities/Terminal.

chflags nohidden ~/Library/

You will need to do that after any updates.
