Q: Why is my Music missing from iTunes while Syncing my iPhone?

Since the last update - it is now July 27, 2015 - both my son and I have lost our Playlists on our iPhones. We also no longer have the option of manually choosing while syncing in iTunes. There is LITERALLY nothing there and it shows only Voice Memos.

We are working off two different iMacs, with different phones and different versions. So what gives???

We spoke to SUPPORT and with a GENIUS and both said we

may have to remove iTunes and re-install. BUT we cannot since iTunes is a part of OS and all we can do is reinstall. HELP

    Hello Tracy,

I know that it can be frustrating when you are not seeing your library when trying to sync the contents over, but let's see if we can get it to show up without reinstalling iTunes.

It looks like you are using iCloud Music Library from the screenshots that you have provided. I would make sure that you have iCloud Music Library turned on each iPhone to see the contents of the iTunes library. If you preferred to sync through iTunes, then you will want to turn off iCloud Music Library on each iPhone and then plug in and you should see the options to sync music. Take a look at the links below for more information.

Check your Apple Music library settings

I had the same problem. you have to turn off all the iCloud options on both devices (laptop/computer and phone).

I had itunes fully closed on both devices before i did this.

On your iPhone make sure you are signed into your itunes account. then go to iphone settings > music > turn off iCloud music

On your macbook, when in itunes on the menu bar click on account > deauthorise this computer.

that worked for me and I got the option back to select what playlist I sync and all that other stuff I could do before the update.
