Q: what happened to my task bar in safari

my task bar does not appear when I log into safari

Mac mini (Mid 2010), OS X Mavericks (10.9)

I think you mean the toolbar. Select Show Toolbar from the View menu.

No, that was my problem last week, now it opens to whatever size I have - but the task bar is gone and cannot arrow back or type in a site I want to go to.
