Recovering excel file

I have been using an excel file to track information on an ongoing basis and have been saving this as I go. Somehow, when I last opened that same file, the latest information was from April. I'm not sure how the file could have reverted back to the April version. Is there anyway to recover the newest version of the file? I have looked in Microsoft auto recover but there is nothing there.

Does anyone have any tips?
