Q: Less than 500 cycle on battery and it will not charge at all
My macbook pro will not hold charge, if the plug is disturbed it will shut off. I am unable to run restart on it as well, it will simply goes to a black screen and does not complete to shut down/restart.
It is an early 2011 model that is suppose to last through 1000 cycles, is there any reason it hasn't even lasted half of this?
Exact cycle is 486.
MacBook Pro (15-inch Early 2011), OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)

Yes, if the battery is defective. Apple warrants that the battery should last at least to 80% of it's expected life. A battery with an expected life of 1000 cycles should not fail with only 486 cycles accumulated.
