iPod Classic Finishing Sync Issue iTunes 12.2.1.16

Ever since upgrading to the most recent iTunes 12 with the inclusion of Apple Music it seems that my iPod Classic has suffered. Previously my iPod would sync absolutely fine but now it seems to be stuck on a loop when "Finishing Sync" and will constantly loop and loop until I have to just unplug it from syncing. This is really inconvenient as the next time I plug the iPod Classic in it has to go through and verify the iPod before syncing and ultimately ending in the same "Finishing Sync" loop.

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.
