what happened to you tube on apple tv?

It is such a bummer that I cannot watch my favorite you tube channels on apple tv. What happened? How do I get it back? It is not easy to fling you tube to the apple tv either. My phone flings the video and turns off the video every time my phone goes dark. My iPad won't even show the option to fling in you tube. This is just a bummer!

ONly AppleTV 3 is currently being updated, and unfortunately Google/YouTube have stopped supporting older YouTube access methods having introduced new ones, hence older units can no longer access YouTube directly.

Welcome to the Apple community.

It's been removed from the Apple TV 2 since Google stopped support for that version. It's still available on the Apple TV 3 though.
