iTunes is generating playlists on its own

Hi there,

ITunes 12.1.0.50 ( I refuse to upgrade at this time), is producing duplicates of some of my existing playlists. This results in additional playlists at the bottom of my playlist listing. For example, I have a playlist called "Beatles (Very Best)" and I now have another called "Beatles (Very Best) 1" in addition.

I've gone through this a number of times now, deleting the duplicates. I have a suspicion that it's happening after I connect and sync my iPhone 6 (latest iOS).

I'd sure appreciate anyone's help on fixing this.
