I'm being told I must activate microsoft office after reinstalling iOS. Any ideas?

Had to back up my MacBook and revert back to iOS 10.9.5 I've moved my Microsoft Office files back into the application folder, and have the icons in the bar, but when I try to open a Word document, I don't get full access, and being told I need to activate, I get a box telling me to reinstall Office.
