Last night while editing some surfing footage in iMovie, the program seems to have imported basically all the files on my computer. All downloaded movies, photos, even emojis and random scripts are jammed up in my iMovie library. I deleted all projects, but can't delete the raw footage from the the library. Any suggestions? There are 15,000 + items in my library and the program is completely useless. Help.

Can you still launch iMovie? If so you can delete the event that has all the unwanted media see: http://help.apple.com/imovie/mac/10.0.8/#/mov74d7d370c

If not use the Finder to go to your iMovie library (which has the file extension .imovielibrary), trash it and empty the trash. It will probably take quite some time to to empty.
