will Apple care address battery lfie?

I have the new 12 inch MacBook but on a full charge I am only getting about 7 hours instead of the 9 hours that I should be getting. My question is this-- I have Apple Care on this computer and is this problem something Apple Care can address and fix? I have never used Apple Care before.

MacBook (Retina, 12-inch, Early 2015), OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)

What the advertising states is "up to 9 hours." What you get is dependent on how you use it. If the battery is defective it will be covered.

If I get a little over 7 hours on a full charge do you think it is a defective battery or should I just deal with it?

I don't know because battery life depends entirely on what you are doing during that time period.
