some of the files were not copied to the iPad because iTunes Match is enabled on this iPad

I have imported 2 CDs to my computer and want to import the files onto my iPad Mini, but when I do an error message comes up saying "Some of the files were not copied to the iPad because iTunes Match is enabled on this iPad." I have tried importing other songs that were purchased on the iTunes Store and it does the same thing. I don't have iTunes Match enabled on my iPad. I'm using iTunes 12.0.1.26.
