Photoshop freez /hangs up in Mac Book Pro

Hi,

I tried to find similar topic and answer but it pointed me straight to start a new topic:

Here is the thing:

Whenever I try to work on PS 6, after few tasks it freeze, the arrow is spinning and I have to wait up to 5 min if not more to continue working in it. I dont know much about IT stuff, so please be very specific what I should do.

I have Mac Book Pro 10.9.5, 2,4 GHz, Intel Core i7, 8GB ( upgraded from 4) 1067 MHz DDR3

Model Name: MacBook Pro

Processor Name: Intel Core i7

Processor Speed: 2,4 GHz

Number of Processors: 1

Total Number of Cores: 4

Beside this I have 460 GB free on disk.

Note the time of the next freeze. After rebooting open the Console app in Finder>Applications>Utilities and look for log entries at the time of the freeze. Post suspicious ones here.

post suspicious what? I can make screen shoots, and then you can decide whats wrong.

It freeze every time I work on PS. EVERY TIME! Last time it freezed for 20 min ;/ I managed to write this post and do the dinner 😉

Something is up with Adobe, I saw another post the other day about a user who had a brand new 15" rMBP and his computer was super slow. He uninstalled Photoshop and replaced it with Lightroom and says everything is working as it should again.

I work on photoshop 8 years. Since last year I had problem with it. But because I didnt have to work on it a lot I didnt bother. I switched to Yosemite for few days, and it was a disaster! So I switched back to my previous system.

I develop photos in LR and export to edit in Photoshop. I opened last photo I worked on. 20 moves later - frozen.

I'm just guessing, but I don't think that version of Photoshop plays well with Yosemite, and switching to Yosemite then back again probably broke something in the program. If there is no way that you cannot live without Photoshop, have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling it to see if that helps?

Bear are you serious? Does formatting the whole drive and installing new operation system can really affect a photoshop? ( freshly installed on the new system)

Did you migrate PS back into the OS or did you reinstall PS from scratch. I'm saying that maybe you should try uninstalling PS then reinstalling it to see if it at least gets it working.

how u can migrate PS when you format all hard drive???

To answer your question - no I did not migrate. When I formatted the drive there was nothing on it. I had to install everything from scratch.
