In Numbers, you can use the functions FIND, SEARCH, LEFT, MID and RIGHT to split data.
What are you trying to do? More information will lead to a solution 🙂.

you cannot split cells. You can, however merge other cells.

If you wish to convert cells contains data into two (or more) cells consider not using Numbers, Excel (and free apps such as Libre) can do what you want (Data to Columns command) based on criteria that you enter.
