Add audio to H264 in QuickTime Pro

I'm trying to add .wav files to H264 video files (no audio). I follow the procedure for adding the audio but when I go to save, it doesn't save the additional audio, the file remains unaltered. I've tried several export possibilities but without satisfying results. Any suggestions? Thanks
