delay in accessing contacts when sending a iMessage

Does anyone else have a problem with delay in accessing your contacts when sending a message or iMessage? if accessing my contacts in Spotlight search I get them immediately if accessing them in messages i have to wait between 10 and 15 seconds? Apple seems to have no idea, I have 570 contacts that I imported into iCloud from google mail.

Any ideas on how to solve this without manually doing all contacts again!
