Tones have gone missing...

Yesterday all of my custom tones have disappeared from both my iPhone and my iTunes. I did not upgrade the IOS (I have 8.4). These tones are custom ones I made in Garage Band and not bought from the iTunes store. The default tones that come with the phone are there, just not my own. Not sure where to start since they don't show in the iTunes Tones folder. Need a push in the right direction.
