My computer was stolen. I tried to sync my ipod with iTunes on my other computer & it won't let me. It won't let me take any new music I input into iTunes and sync it with my ipod. I called Apple support and they told me the only thing I could was to delete the 4800 songs on my ipod and start over. Ridiculous & terrible service.
You should be able to use the recovery advice given above to reclaim your media. There is a link in there to a backup tip also. The same tool is useful for other content like photos and documents.
