iPod touch 6 gen, Battery data question

iPod touch 6th generation "battery usage" question--Settings/General/Usage/Battery Usage. Then screen says "Time since last full charge". This fills in so long as the iPod is not "powered off". Once powered off, and turned restarted-- no time data will appear! Normal??? It seems that the time duration data should be shown, and be cumulative until next recharge.
