Should I be concerned? I remember years ago seeing these gray stripes before my whole computer crashed. Yikes! Any suggestions?

The MacBook Pro is an Early 2008, with a 2.5 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, running OS X 10.4.4.
If you have a monitor or a HD TV you can do a test by connecting the MBP to it.
If the monitor mirrors the MBP display, the GPU is faulty.
If the monitor shows a good image, the display or the display connection is faulty.
A definitive evaluation can be made at an Apple store genius bar. It will be for FREE.
