Every time I try to sync my iPhone my IMac, IMac reports sync failed to start it used to do this automatically any ideas??

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 8.4

I understand that when you connect your iPhone to your Mac and try to sync, you are receiving an alert that your sync failed to start. To troubleshoot this situation, I would recommend reading over and working through the steps outlined in the attached article below.
