Late 2011 Model. GPU failed.

My Late 2011 MacBook Pro GPU failed. And according to Apple I can get a free repair if I bring it to a Apple Store,cause my model is eligible. Brought it to an Apple Store and they want me to pay 69euro for a diagnostic. Should I have to pay the 69euro or should that be free considering my laptop is one of the model affected my failed GPUs?
