My iTunes music playback is stuttering when I use Air Play devices

I have recently set up my AirPort Express devices on the Wi-Fi network, yet when I play music to one or all of them, the music stutters so frequently it is annoying. I have searched on this topic and found references to the 12.1 version (which I was using) and a "64bit version for older video cards" version which for some people resolved the issue. However, the links for that version is no longer working.

I have tried updating to 12.2.1.16 in the hope that a general update will fix the issue, but the problem remains.

Is anyone else having the same issue?
